Jeffrey Stephen Gerber, MD, PhD, MSCE

Professor of Pediatrics & Epidemiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

Jeffrey S. Gerber, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology, Attending Physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Associate Chief Clinical Research officer of the CHOP Research Institute, and Senior Scholar within the Penn Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He holds the Werner and Gertrude Henle Endowed Chair. Dr. Gerber's research focuses on the epidemiology and outcomes of antibiotic use in children, with the goal of improving clinical outcomes while limiting the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. In general, his approach has been to benchmark antimicrobial use across clinical settings to identify high-impact targets for improvement; design comparative effectiveness studies for clinical scenarios where practice varies; and conduct interventions to implement and disseminate evidence-based practice.
